Pre and Primary School

IMG_20190508_154219.jpg

In 2014 we built a pre and primary school for up to 60 children in the remote village of Ayensuako in southern Ghana. The desire amongst local parents to send their children to school was overwhelming and over the years we have extended the school and we are now teaching 255 children aged 3-12 years.

Our school is registered with the Ghanaian government and our eight fully qualified teachers follow the state approved curriculum. Working in partnership with Book Aid International, we also have a school library that stocks over 2,000 books.

Our teachers are excellent role models, particularly for the girls who have had no previous contact with educated women. For the first time in their lives, the girls in our school are being exposed to the possibility that they too could become teachers or professionals, something that they would not have considered before they came to school. Our pupils have high ambitions for the future, some want to become doctors, footballers, teachers and even the prime minister!!

Sponsor an education

Our unique sponsorship program allows you to connect with, and truly get to know, the incredible children that benefit from your support. Choose to donate £7 a month and transform the fortunes of a single child and an entire community. In return you will:

  • RECEIVE YOUR OWN DIGITAL SPONSOR PACK - as we are a paperless charity, you will receive a digital pack crammed with information on the school, plus a link to your very own private youtube channel.

  • RECEIVE EXCITING VIDEO UPDATES - every first Monday of the month we release raw, unedited footage from our school in Ghana. You can comment, say ‘Hi’ and speak directly to our teachers.

  • RECEIVE drawings, letters and photos from our students throughout the year.

We couldn’t think of a better way for you to see the direct influence you make to the lives of impoverished children and their families!

Thank you for your support.

Perfect's Story

‘My name is Perfect and I am ten years old. I go to the Humanitas School but I will leave in a week to go to high school. I wish I could stay here because I will miss my teacher very much but I will come and visit all the time. When I grow up I want to be a nurse and I would like to be a nurse for Humanitas so I can help the children in this school.’
